Students experiment with Robotics!

Summit middle and high school students recently walked through the impressive gates of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, excited to embark on an adventure into the world of robotics! In the robotics lab, they were greeted by rows of small robots, each equipped with sensors and programmed to follow lines of various colors.

The rooms buzzed with excitement as the students began to experiment with the robots, modifying the color patterns to change direction or speed. Together, they discussed strategies and troubleshooted issues.

They participated in an interactive workshop led by WPI's knowledgeable Engineering Ambassadors, learning about the priniciples of robotics from programming basics to sensor integration. They had a friendly competition to showcase each teams' robot's capabilities. To round out the event, they were treated to a campus tour.

We want to thank WPI and the Ambassadors for offering this program and igniting curiosity about STEM, showing our students the potential they have to create and innovate just like WPI students. We look forward to our next visit!
